FWTS
Federal Wireless Communications Service (FWTS)
The Federal Wireless Telecommunications Services (FWTS) contract provides
integrated nationwide cellular voice and data service to various branches of
the federal government. FWTS covers wireless service to all 50 states, as
well as Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa and the
Northern Marianas.
CSC won the eight-year, $300 million contract from the General Services
Administration in November 1996.
FWTS offers a single point of accountability for service provisioning,
customer service, performance reporting, contract administration and
customer billing for the entire program. CSC's billing system consolidates
charges from a nationwide network of 55 cellular providers in 734 market
areas into a single bill.

providers includes GTE Wireless, a prominent cellular provider, and Bell
Atlantic Mobile, the major cellular provider in the Atlantic region.

the United States - including Hawaii and Alaska - and Puerto Rico, Virgin
Islands, Guam and the Northern Marianas.
