Life Cycle Support Services

The JCON team performs a variety of life cycle services to accommodate your information technology needs.

Software (including software maintenance)

JCON offers many different types of software for your Office Automation needs. There are various types of client, server, and network software that will improve your performance and efficiency on the job.

JCON's hardware offerings are state-of-the-art, reliable, and adaptable to growing requirements. The various types include client, server, and network hardware.

JCON Life Cycle Support Services

Specialty Engineering

DOJ can request that a special project be completed by the JCON team. Customers may want to use this service to better understand IT requirements. Examples of projects include business process reengineering, cost/benefit analysis, system analysis, design, development, security, specialized network, server, and desktop tasks.

Internet / Intranet Design

Through JCON, we can capture and document the current security policies, procedures, capabilities, features, and infrastructure. DynCorp IS can also implement a prototype and full system for the web site.

Oracle Database Development

The JCON team can install, design, implement, and integrate Oracle databases.

System and Architectural Engineering

The JCON team proposes, provides, updates, and maintains an overall system design and architecture. The Systems Architecture details the server operating system, network operating system, network protocols, network management, architectural approach to LANs , WANs, and security, and the interoperability between the hardware and software.

Testing and Integration

JCON can integrate new hardware or work with existing GFE hardware. All systems are thoroughly tested in the lab before deployment to the customer’s location.

Site Surveys

A site inspection is completed to verify and certify each department’s requirements. This will identify all hardware, software, and services necessary for successful and timely implementation.

Transition Planning

There is a smooth transition from the legacy systems (i.e., Eagle and AMICUS) to JCON. End-user conversion and migration of files and Oracle applications is provided. During the rollout process, all new JCON systems will be able to interact with the existing legacy systems.

Installation and Implementation

JCON delivers the completed configuration and then installs and evaluates the equipment to ensure that everything is working as planned.

Asset Management

JCON can manage all hardware and software acquired from the contract as well as any GFE that is integrated into the system. The team provides methods for maintaining comprehensive inventory information as well as tracking maintenance.

Maintenance

Maintenance is offered for all equipment purchased from JCON as well as GFE equipment for the life of JCON. Maintenance options can range from metropolitan to major metropolitan areas and premium to non-premium services.

Training

Training is provided to administrators and end users. The technical classes include basic systems support, systems management, communications, computer security, and technical database. The end user classes include system orientation, e-mail, scheduling, calendaring, WordPerfect, database management, and computer security. In addition, customers can receive customized training, train-the-trainer, single subject seminars, and personalized one on one training.

Support Desk

JCON provides a support desk and hotline which offers technical assistance to all users of the system via a toll-free number. The staff are technically knowledgeable and resolve all system problems and questions.

Groupware is a technology that improves and facilitates an organization's collaborative process. Includes products like Lotus Notes.

Litigation Support

Includes all software that supports legal research, such as Lexis-Nexis, Law Dictionary, and West Law.

Management

Includes network protocol software, such as FTP On Net 32, FTP Interdrive NFS Client, Syntax SMB, and Powerquest Partition Magic.

Office Automation

Includes applications found on your desktop such as word processing, spreadsheet, presentations, project management, faxing software, and suites of products. In addition, all desktop application manuals can be found here.

Operating Systems

Includes products such as Windows 95/98/2000, DOS, and Windows for Workgroups.

Remote Access

Client software that allows you to communicate from a remote site. Includes Datastorm Procomm Plus and Citrix Winframe.

Security and Recovery

Products include file encryption, virus protection, Cylink, and SQL Safety Gain.

Server Software

Database

Includes server databases such as Oracle and JIMS.

Server Management Software

Includes software such as facsimile access, inventory and configuration management, maintenance tracking, performance monitoring, and Netscape SuiteSpot.

Security and Recovery

Includes server software such as virus protection, mirroring, and BoxHill Legato back-up software.

Network Software

Network Management

Includes software such as HP Open View, 3Com Enterprise Manager, 3Com Transcend Software, Racal CMS 400, Netscape Suitespot, APC Powerchute Plus, Cisco Works, Network Management Software and Cisco Visual Switch Manager.

Remote Access

Network software that allows you to communicate from a remote site.

Includes GFE equipment such as mass storage, memory, monitors, and peripherals.

Server Hardware

File Servers

Includes file servers such as Axil, Sun, Compaq and Dell.

Mass Storage

Includes mass storage hardware such as Boxhill Raid Turbo, Boxhill DASD Subsystems, BoxHill DLTs/DATs, Disk Arrays, Disk Drives, CD-ROM Drives, and Juke Boxes.

Memory

Includes memory upgrade, varying in size from 16MB to 256MB.

Peripheral

Includes peripherals such as monitors, keyboards, mouses, boards, graphics cards and fax modems.

Power Supplies

Includes equipment necessary to supply JCON systems' power.

Network Hardware

Remote Access

Includes the hardware necessary to communicate from a remote location using dial-in/out access and modems.

Cable/Wiring

Includes cables and wiring necessary to connect the JCON system.

Hubs

Includes hubs such as 3Com's LinkBuilder FMS 100, FMS II, and SuperStack II.

Interface Cards

Includes 3Com's Etherlink III and Fast Ethernet interface cards.

Routers

Includes routers from 3Com and Cisco.

Security

Includes security hardware such as call back security system and encryption devices.

Switches

Includes switches from 3Com and Cisco.
