Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Police Department (MPD)
Beginning in early 1998, CSC has been migrating the MPD's legacy systems to a single, modern integrated system that supports the 5000 existing users while providing the flexibility for future technological growth. The new system's faster, more efficient, and more secure police communications have resulted in increased safety for both the police officers and the communities they serve.

CSC's effort on the MPD's IT program covers the full system development lifecycle. The following are a few of the system features and support that CSC is providing: requirements definition and analysis; product evaluations and procurement; network administration, analysis, design support, and documentation; Y2K compliant computer added dispatch systems; system integration and testing; user training, technical training, and operational support; office automation software; hardware and software troubleshooting and maintenance; delivering and integrating more than 450 mobile data computers with application software.

Cities of Fort Lauderdale and Pompano Beach, Florida
As the public safety systems integrator for the Fort Lauderdale and Pompano Beach, CSC is undertaking a complete overhaul of the cities' public safety systems infrastructure, including the police, fire, and emergency management systems. The new system's modern, open architecture will support the approximately 4,500 existing users and allow for easy expansion, both within the two cities and to the surrounding jurisdictions.

CSC's system includes computer-aided dispatch, records management, a variety of custom interfaces for the various departments, and a mug shot software system. CSC is also advising on integration strategies with other law enforcement agencies, while maintaining data integrity and security, and complying with federal, state, and local requirements.
