Computer-Aided Dispatch

CSC's computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems employ a clear, easy-to-use graphical user interface. A single smart screen displays all the main dispatching functions, which are color-coded for clarity.

When a 911 call comes in, the operator can immediately spot the location and type of the call. The screen's interactive map displays the positions of primary and back-up response units and potential sources of danger. The system also performs automatic communication checks for overdue units.

community mapping imageAn operator can perform keyword searches on names, aliases, property descriptions, and licenses, then relay the results to public safety officials on the scene. The system also can access police, fire, and EMS systems.

Working from the dispatch screen, the operator can provide a variety of services to the personnel the field, including the following:

  • Retrieve and send color photographs of persons or hazardous sites
  • Send diagrams of accident scenes
  • Fax pre-fire plans
  • Send user-defined plans of action for particular addresses, incidents, or evacuation routes

Because they operate on a network, CSC's CAD systems are easy to expand and update.
