Mobile ComputersCSC's public safety solutions include mobile computers in emergency and public safety vehicles. The computers allow personnel to file field reports on the road, hold multi-department conferences, and dispatch fire and other emergency vehicles from the field.
Officers in the field can connect to federal and state crime computer networks to access criminal information quickly, including information about vacant buildings, criminal histories, and personnel work schedules. All messages can be encrypted to prevent unauthorized reception. The mobile computers are fully integrated with the CAD system and with the records management system, so that users have quick access to name and address history and to incident reports. A crime computer interface gives field officers access to state and national crime information.

Personnel using the computers can send on-line messages to one
another. If a car is out of range, the computer's messages are stored
and delivered once the car is back in range. Any user may transmit
messages to all other users or to specified users.
